Easel Painting

Easel Painting

Made using a studio easel to direct the movement of fluid paint, this work draws on the muted earth tones associated with Renaissance grounds and underpainting. The paint continues over the edges of the canvas, extending the work beyond its front surface and making the edge an active part of the composition.
