After Lady Agnew (1892)
Made using a discarded chair to direct the movement of fluid paint, this work draws on the colour palette of John Singer Sargent's Lady Agnew of Lochnaw (1892). Rather than recreating the portrait, the painting reactivates its colours through a process shaped by gravity, material behaviour, and the physical presence of the chair, leaving a trace of an encounter rather than an image.
